About The Speaker
Salvador Moreno Peralta
Salvador Moreno Peralta is an architect and town planner from Malaga of recognized prestige, as well as a member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Telmo. It is in his native Malaga where he has his studio SMP Arquitectos and where some of his major works, such as the engineering building of the Polytechnic School of Malaga and the Technical School of Malaga, the Faculty of Law and the Larios and Malaga Nostrum shopping centres, were erected. Although he was born in Malaga and has lived in different cities in Spain, Madrid is a city that has marked him forever, because it was at the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid that he graduated. If there is one thing that defines him, it is his eagerness to create and the search for excellence in all his work. For this reason, Salvador Moreno Peralta has won several awards for some of his works. In 1999 he received the Europa Nostra award for the rehabilitation of the fortified enclosures of Melilla and the National Urban Planning Award for the General Urban Development Plan of Malaga in 1983. Other major works include the Alel Building in the Andalusia Technology Park, Torremolinos Town Hall, and the Melilla Pavilion at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza. Architecture is his life, although literature and art in all its aspects are his true passions.
