Carlos Rubio Basabe
President Malaga Port Authority Born in Melilla in 1962, the president of the port institution holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Alcalá de Henares, having completed a specialisation course in Public Administration management at the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht (Holland). He is a civil servant in the Cuerpo Superior de Administradores Civiles del Estado and has worked in the Patents and Trademarks Office of the Ministry of Industry and Energy, in the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in the Spanish Embassies in Windhoek (Namibia) and Pretoria (South Africa), before becoming subdelegate of the Government in Malaga in 1998.
Between 2004 and 2006 he was Director General of the Security Area and General Coordinator of the Districts in Malaga Town Hall, after which he was appointed member of the Marbella Town Hall management team, where he subsequently held various posts.
